The Community Foundation of Boone County partners with RocketBuild to create a custom volunteering platform
RocketBuild’s latest partner, the Community Foundation of Boone County (CFBC), has a mission to unite people, organizations, and philanthropy to create a thriving community for all. Through their efforts, they’ve been able to grant more than $27 million back to Boone County since their inception in 1991.
Over the course of 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, CFBC set a record year of over $2.3 million in donations to funds held at CFBC that made a tremendous impact to support local community needs. To continue driving their mission and ensuring their strategic goals, they received a Community Leadership Grant as part of the seventh phase of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT VII) initiative to create a volunteering app that will act as a centralized hub connecting local nonprofits to the community.
RocketBuild, recently named the top software development company in Indiana, was selected by the CFBC team to help them realize their vision of creating custom software that allows the community to easily see all local nonprofit volunteer opportunities.
The planning and design phases of the mobile-responsive progressive web application will begin in August 2021 and the fully developed solution will launch December 2021.
Jodi Gietl, President and CEO of CFBC, said, “CFBC wants local residents to feel included in the local opportunities that exist right here in Boone County, have a voice in our collective future, reach their own potential, and know that a broader community outside their circle of friends and family cares about them. We believe this will happen through the development of this much needed platform!”
RocketBuild’s CIO, Jason Ward, offered, “The RocketBuild team loves working for nonprofits and on cause-based technology projects. The software that CFBC is building is unique. It’s local, community-driven, and will be accessible on all devices. That approach is sure to resonate and make widespread impact for nonprofits and residents.”
RocketBuild has a history of developing applications for nonprofits like Kiwanis International, USA Football, AIM Indiana, and the Chef Ann Foundation.
