By November 29, 2017 March 4th, 2019 No Comments

For our most recent installment of our “Meet the RocketBuilder” series, we bring you Angie Martaus, Full-Stack Developer. Angie brings to the team, among other things, a stunning wit, an amazing affinity for music, and an unmatched (at least at RocketBuild) talent for baking.

Q & A with Angie

Q: What is your role at RocketBuild?
Developer
Q: What do you do for fun?
I like to read, go to concerts, bake, run, knit, hang out with my cat Poppy, play piano… but not all at once
Q: What’s your favorite band or artist?
I will be a Beyoncé stan until the end of time. Special shoutouts to Mitski, Janelle Monáe, St. Vincent, Harry Styles,  Tame Impala, and *both* the Beatles and the Stones. Also my fairy godmother Joni Mitchell.
Q: What languages do you prefer to code in?
At this point I’m best acquainted with PHP, but I like Python too. So tidy.
Q: If you had to stay up all night for a hackathon, what drinks and snacks would you need to keep you going?
Black coffee, popcorn, and plenty of water to balance out the inevitable IPAs too.
Q: What got you into your career?
I started learning the very basics about five years ago when I figured out teaching wasn’t the career path for me… I wanted to keep going, so eventually I attended a boot camp here in Indy and thankfully landed at RocketBuild as a junior developer afterward. It’s been nearly three great years since.
Q: What’s your favorite type of project or client to work with?
I like any project that will expose me to something new, and clients who are open to different ideas or approaches to their problems and excited to collaborate with us.
Q: Fun fact:
I once won a Harry Potter bar trivia night as a solo player.
