Colin Von Grimmenstein started with RocketBuild in October of 2014.
Q: What is your role at RocketBuild?
A: Developer
Q: What do you do for fun?
A: One of my favorite things to do for fun is rock climbing. I have been climbing on and off for about 12 years now and just can’t stop. Nothing feels better than finally getting to the top of a route that you originally thought was impossible.
I also love to do obstacle course races. I was introduced to the world of obstacle course racing four years ago and try and do as many races as I can. If you have never done one, I highly recommend checking one out.
Q: What’s your favorite local lunch spot?
A: Bluebeard
Q: What languages do you prefer to code in?
(Don’t worry, at RocketBuild languages are like pets. We love our own the most, but still like everyone else’s too)
A: I don’t really have a preference. Each one has things I love and hate about them.
Q: If you had to stay up all night for a hackathon what drinks and snacks would you need to keep you going?
A: Monsters and dark chocolate covered coffee beans.
Q: What got you into your career?
A: Angelina Jolie’s hit movie from the 90’s called Hackers. The idea of hacking into a TV station and having it play whatever show I wanted seemed amazing…I never got to do that, but it’s what started my interest in programming. Now after answering that, I realized Netflix has made that dream come true.
Q: What are your favorite types of projects
A: My favorite type of projects currently would be any type of mobile app. I have spent most of my career on web so it’s been very refreshing.
