Q: What is your role at RocketBuild?
A: Developer

Q: What do you do for fun?
A: Uhhhh….

Q: What languages do you prefer to code in?
(Don’t worry, at RocketBuild languages are like pets. We love our own the most, but still like everyone else’s too)
A: English, mostly.

Q: If you had to stay up all night for a hackathon what drinks and snacks would you need to keep you going?
A: I crave Brawndo.

Q: What got you into your career?
A: I wanted to be a writer, so I used to write a lot in highschool, but I never managed to finish a
book. I was pretty good at drawing, so I decided to make an animation, because it combined writing and drawing. Before I ever finished an animation, I read online that professional animation was dead so I’d need a website if I was going to make a living as an animator. So I started making a website. That one I finished. And then I finished it over and over and over again and now LOOK AT ME!

Q: What are your favorite types of projects
A: My favorite projects are the ones where I can sneak in really clean manageable code behind the scenes, breaking down complex logic into its smallest reusable bits. My proudest achievements are bits of programs that do something complicated in a really elegant way. I work hard so the user never knows it’s a complicated process to begin with. Bonus, if another developer can come in and navigate through my code, and make sense of it, I’ve done my job well.

Q: What’s your favorite local lunch spot?
